In Memory> Stanley Buresh
Passed away Febuary 4th 2017
Stanley Buresh
Stanley Milo Buresh, 66, of East Gull Lake passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2017. Stan was born on October 11, 1950 to Milo and Irene (Klug) Buresh in Norfolk, NE. Around the age of 13, the family moved from the Nebraska farm to Brainerd, Minnesota.
After graduation, he joined the Navy when his number came up in the draft for the Vietnam War. He was in the Navy from June 1970 until May of 1972, serving on the USS Hancock. After returning from the Navy, he worked for a turkey plant until he started at Potlatch in October 1972.
He met and married the love of his life, Susan Yvette Kyar, after dating for a short 7 months. He worked for Potlach until they closed their doors in 2002. He then joined the crew at Wood Products Unlimited until he retired in April of 2007.
Stan is survived by his wife, Susan of East Gull Lake; children, Scott (Joanna) Buresh of Pillager, Kyle (Jessica) Buresh of Brainerd, and Kyra (Adam) Manger of Pequot Lakes; grandchildren, Emma, Matthew, Levi, Charli, Landon and Rylee; siblings, Linda Fletcher of Brainerd, Peggy (Alan) Andres of Baxter and Patty (Brad) Baysinger of Brainerd.
Stan was a happy and social person and will always be remembered by many for his love of life, gift of gab, witty sense of humor, endless joking, pranks and his storytelling. His children and grandchildren always wanted him to tell his stories and always wanted just one more story. He was gifted with many talents. He loved to hunt and fish, carpentry and woodworking, welding and his newest venture playing with his metal lathe. He took pride in always doing a job well done and doing it the "Stan" way. Whenever someone needed help, Stan was more than willing and often was the first to offer his time.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 am Thursday, February 9, at First Lutheran Church in Brainerd. Visitation times are Wednesday from 4-7:00 pm at the Nelson-Doran Funeral Home and Thursday one hour prior to Services at the Church. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Brainerd.
Our Papa was a loving man who cherished many with his big heart but always had room for more. He never gave in and never gave up to the cancer. We love you Papa and will miss you dearly every day.
Arrangements are with Nelson-Doran Funeral Home, Brainerd
