Kay M. (Niemi) Aase

Kay Marie Aase, age 61, passed away Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011, at her home in Nisswa. She was born Oct. 5, 1950, to James and LuVerne Niemi.

Kay is survived by her husband of 39 years, Brian; two children, Kelly (Jeremy) Wiczek and Stacie (Andrew) Ryan; both of Nisswa; mother, LuVerne Niemi; sister, Debra (John) Hillstrom; niece, Ashley and nephew, David; and her two grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her father, James; brother, Gary; and two infant siblings.

Kay graduated from Brainerd High School and was fabric manager at Baxter Walmart for 19 years. She was an accomplished seamstress, and loved anything that involved the outdoors. Her interests included spending time with her family, boating, fishing, gardening and snowmobiling.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held noon on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church, Nisswa. Visitation will begin one hour prior to services at the church.

Any memorials will be given to ovarian cancer research.
