She attended and graduated from both high school and community college in Brainerd, MN. She earned her bachelor's degree in Social Work from Bemidji State University.

Mona devoted her life to helping others. During her career she worked for Mid-Mn Women's Center, CEP, the Senior Center and Lutheran Social Services in the Brainerd Lakes area. Her gentle soul and desire to assist others lead her to further serve her communities through board and volunteer activities at the Pillager Family Center and PORT Group Homes.

Mona married John Aho on January 17, 1986, this brought Mona a daughter and son as well as a husband. Mona enjoyed spending time gardening, reading on her screen porch overlooking the water, spending time with family and friends, and being with her grandchildren, an incredible source of happiness for Mona.

Siblings: Barry Rosenberg (Pat Buzzell) of Coon Rapids MN, Nancy (Jerry) Falconer of Parker CO, Sheryl (Roy) Moeller of Shorewood MN, Robert Rosenberg of Mesa AZ and Debra (Allan) Jensen of Lakeville MN, as well as special nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
