Donald A. Yde, 52, Brainerd, passed away Friday Nov. 28, 2003 at his home.
He was born on Sept. 7, 1951 in Brainerd to Peter and Lena (Sohns) Yde. He married Cheeri Swartout on Feb. 14, 1981. He owned and operated Yde's appliance repair for 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed attending horse shows with his daughter and her friends. He was very actively involved with family and friends with their parade float. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Brainerd and served as an officer at the Eagle's Club. He was also president of the Double "S" Saddle Club, and a member of the Moose Lodge.
Survivors include his wife Cheeri, of Brainerd; his son Daniel, of Brainerd; his daughter Claire, of Brainerd; his brothers David, of Brainerd, Peter II (Jane) of Kenosha Wis.; and his sister Margery (Rueben) Root of Brainerd. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Paul.
Services will be Monday, Dec. 1, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brainerd. Interment will be at Sylvan Cemetery, Sylvan Township. Friends may call on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003 from 2 - 5 p.m. at the Halvorson Johnson Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the services at the church.
